Parkhill is excited to announce newly licensed civil engineer Nash Crawley, PE! Nash is a member of Parkhill's Environmental Team and works in our Lubbock office. Nash is proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software, statistical analysis, permitting, and environmental sampling and compliance reporting. He also has a strong informational technology background with a Master of Science degree in civil engineering. "Through permitting and designing solid waste facilities, I help communities dispose of waste responsibly, maximize recycling and reuse, and ultimately keep our planet healthy and thriving," Nash said. I was fortunate to attend the Living Future Conference this year in beautiful Atlanta, GA, with my colleague Steven Holmes. Thank you Parkhill for this opportunity. There were many inspiring sessions, however my biggest takeaway was the huge growth in the number of certified and registered projects today as compared to when the LBC (Living Building Challenge) was first issued by ILFI in the early 2000s. This is a testament to the commitment of those in our industry that believe in ILFI's vision, have accepted the 'challenge' and are helping guide us towards a resilient, healthy, and happier future. A big shout out to these trailblazers in our community! Let's all join hands and help support this mission! Thank you Lindsay Baker for your fearless leadership! Mental health is equally important to physical health and vital to our overall well-being. StarCare Specialty Health System is investing in behavioral and mental healthcare with the construction of the Sunrise Canyon Hospital and Hope Diversion Center, which will house a new inpatient hospital and the HOPE Center for Health and Wellbeing. With Parkhill as the architect of record, in association with architecture and planning firm Page, the process to understand the goals of the StarCare Speciality Health System leadership included an initial collaboration session and multiple detailed programming sessions. The new inpatient hospital's vision is to provide the community with an inclusive, safe, and compassionate environment for behavioral health services. Hospital staff will also have adequate space to deliver higher-quality care. The HOPE Center for Health and Wellbeing will be a Diversion Center Model of Care designed to help people experiencing mental health distress avoid facilities unequipped to handle those situations, such as emergency rooms, jails, and some inpatient hospitals. It will instead use crisis evaluation services, 23-hour extended observation, and community partner resources to treat patients. Amazing to see this Parkhill project demolition party! The expansion will bring much needed gallery and gathering space to this free to the community museum!
Yesterday, we hosted a Demo and Donuts event for Ellen Noël Art Museum! The owner invited some local engineering and STEM students, and a few donors for a fun event, while we took down an existing wall. They presented an award to Robles1 Demo (a demo subcontractor for us) who have done a great job at precision demolition on this project. #BuildingYourFuture #DemoAndDonuts
