One of our Hagar’s Heart programs is the HH Pop-Up Shop! It takes time to feel safe to go to a store without looking over your shoulder or feeling nervous about coming face-to-face with your abuser. It can be difficult to find something suitable for a work interview or even just something to wear if an emergency escape is made. This is why we hold our pop-up “shop” where survivors can “shop” for new clothes and talk to others free from worry. Do you have tagged or like new clothing? Reach out to Emily@hagarsheart.org! 💜

💜💜💜 Meet @noelleslater. Wife. Mom. Realtor. Rockstar. Someone you want on your team. When Noelle approached me about representing Hagar’s Heart in the Rotary Club of Arlington event, Dancing with the Arlington Stars, I immediately said yes! I have watched her put her heart and soul into hard work, relationships, and taking care of people through being a realtor, school ambassador, and most importantly, a friend. As Noelle shares in her Dancing with the Stars Bio: Hagar’s Heart, Noelle’s charity of choice, is not a random selection. She and her friend, Jennifer Jones, share a membership to a club no one wants to be a part of… Both formerly in relationships that caused long term emotional damage, the 2 women know first-hand the importance of reminding domestic violence victims that they are worthy, loved, and deserve peace. Sharing your journey of abuse is no easy feat. It takes bravery, motivation, and courage to move. Putting Hagar’s Heart in the Dancing with the Arlington Stars spotlight will share the message of hope and love to those who may need to hear it. As Noelle dances for Hagar’s Heart, she has set a goal of $30,000, to support Hagar’s Heart and the Rotary Club of Arlington. How can you help Noelle reach her goal? Whether it is $5 or $500, you make a difference in the lives of survivors and those affected by domestic violence. https://lnkd.in/gHhwYt4s Thank you, Noelle, for sharing Hagar’s Heart with the Arlington Community!

Yesterday, a bipartisan group of lawmakers introduced the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act. The bill redirects unobligated funds collected through the False Claims Act to the Crime Victims Fund through Fiscal Year 2029, stabilizing the Crime Victims Fund during recent declines.  The Hotline amongst other victim service organizations depend on the Crime Victims Fund to provide critical support for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, child abuse, stalking, and other crimes. This legislation will prevent the devastating impact of depleting deposits into the fund, enabling victim services organizations to continue helping survivors. We LOVE providing volunteer opportunities and a chance for companies to give back to the community, specifically the women and men we serve in domestic violence organizations across the metroplex! Thank you to Southwest Airlines (@amnestygreen) and Hunt Energy (@elizabethsmith) for organizing great events and helping us to reach over 200 survivors through emotional support! Does your company need a teambuilding activity to support those in need? Email Emily Swanson at emily@hagarsheart.org!
