Communities where no one has to go hungry.
About us
Our Vision: Communities where no one has to go hungry. Our Mission: Empowering our communities to alleviate hunger by providing food, education and resources. A central clearinghouse for donated food and groceries, Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) receives fresh, frozen and nonperishable food donated by the food industry and the community. Dedicated volunteers help sort, inspect and repackage the food, which is then distributed to our network of 270 Partner Agencies serving hungry children, families and seniors in North Texas. The people who generously donate their time, funds and skills to TAFB help make the services we provide to the community possible. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

Thank you Mayor Mattie Parker and City Councilmembers for recognizing Tarrant Area Food Bank and the importance of summer meals with the Proclamation May 2024 as Summer Meals Month. Childhood hunger is on the rise in our 13-county service area and is particularly heightened in the summer months when students do not have access to school nutrition programs. This grant will help us expand our impact through Ready to Learn In-School Markets.

Tarrant Area Food Bank thanks Tyson Foods for the generous donation of 37K pounds of chicken that will feed hungry families throughout our 13-county service area.

It was a record-breaking year for the Shoot to End Hunger clay shoot benefitting the Tarrant Area Food Bank. In April, ProSource of Fort Worth raised enough money to provide over 800,000 meals to neighbors in need across our community. This donation comes at a crucial time as TAFB is experiencing a food deficit. Thank you for your partnership and helping us stock our shelves!

To wrap up Volunteer Appreciation Month, TAFB hosted a "Toast to Volunteerism" event where several of our volunteers were awarded the Core Value Volunteer Award for truly embodying our core values. Thank you to all of our volunteers! We could not fulfill our mission to alleviate hunger and improve health without your support. #tafb #hungerheroes
